Here on this blog I've tried to keep fairly anonymous as an attempt to protect my children. Recently we've found ourselves in a situation that we feel requires a bit less anonymity. We are asking for your help.
Not expecting this news means we had just began saving for our next adoption. However, this precious babe is due in just a few months! So I am throwing myself into learning about fundraising, adoption grants, cutting our budget, and more.
Also, we had a figure in mind of what our next adoption budget could be. The fees for this adoption are twice as much as our budget, and almost twice as much as the fees were for our daughter's adoption. So even if baby boy was due to be born several months later, the adoption fees would still be higher than our budget and we would still be in need of fundraising.
When we found out how much the adoption fee would be we knew we could never raise enough money to help us cover it. And we have to know very soon, sometime around Christmas, whether or not we can go forward with this adoption. The agency will need to find another family if we are unable. If we receive donations enough to get us close to our goal then we know we will be able to fundraise for the remainder, will be able to tell the agency yes, and will definitely go ahead with the fundraisers planned. We would even continue to fundraise after he came home. We are asking you to share our story to see if there is a certain someone out there who can help and is just waiting for us to ask.
We would love to bring this sweet baby into our home and family. He already has a place in our hearts."
